Fodderstack Road

A stone’s throw from Shenandoah National Park, a new family lays plans to root their future home. Intentionally compact, the home and gardens are laid out to both limit site disturbance and shape large areas to restore grasslands and expand the existing forest. Positioned between conserved parkland, farmland, and a local waterway, the renewed landscape will form a vital link in the region’s habitat corridors.

Highland Park Greening + Community Connections

Continuing our collaboration with Groundwork RVA, this series of projects in Highland Park blends community imagination with youth-led workshops and on-the-ground demonstrations. Outreach—led by Kai Banks of Storefront for Community Design and supported by GWRVA’s Green Team—engaged both longtime and new residents of this historically Black neighborhood in envisioning the future of the Cannon Creek corridor. In parallel, Cohort partnered with the Green Workforce to design and install a neighborhood corner garden that showcases the potential of de-paving and native planting to create a welcoming, beautiful, and more absorbent urban space - for neighbors, plants, and insects alike.

NBWLA Project

Mill Ridge Park

One of the first two public parks developed under Nashville’s “Plan To Play” initiative, Mill Ridge is now open, serving as a regional destination in one of the city’s fastest-growing and most ethnically diverse neighborhoods. Phase One features open lawns, pavilions, and groves for gathering, along with the first stage of a signature playground - designed with inclusive principles and inspired by Middle Tennessee’s unique Cedar Glade ecology.

NBWLA Project

Mt. Cuba Center Master Plan + Phase 1

A beloved Delaware botanical garden is reimagined to expand its impact of inspiring ecological stewardship by addressing both aspirational and practical aspects of being a growing public garden, transforming the visitor arrival, making historic gardens newly ADA accessible, and renewing its horticultural facilities.

Ready Kids Thera-play Landscape

In collaboration with Ready Kids, we are in the process of transforming an underutilized side yard into a therapeutic landscape to support counseling services for young children. The design introduces play areas, collective seating, and immersive plant rooms to foster healing, connection, and community among clients and staff.

Belmont Ave Residence

Embracing necessity as the mother of invention, this neighbordhood renovation makes a lot out of a little space, finding room for an outdoor studio, wild garden, and spaces for dining and play.
